Communications Officer

When a child is diagnosed with cancer life becomes full of fear, for them and their family. Fear of treatment, but also of families being torn apart, overwhelming money worries, of having nowhere to turn, no one to talk to.

At Young Lives vs Cancer, we help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. And you could be a part of the team making it happen.

The role

We're lucky to have corporate and brand partnerships with some fantastic businesses - including some household names - who are just as passionate as we are about helping families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them.

 

As Communications Officer, you will take lead on providing communications support on Young Lives vs Cancer’s corporate and brand partnerships and a range of communications projects at Young Lives vs Cancer. 

 

This role will include delivering a wide range of marketing, PR, social media, internal communications and engagement activities to help raise the profile of Young Lives vs Cancer and inspire corporate partners' staff to raise vital funds. 

Young Lives vs Cancer is open to and in support of flexible working. We are currently defining our approach to hybrid working. Your flexibility requirements and that of the role will be discussed at interview stage with you.

About you

You will have experience in delivering PR, internal communications, social media and marketing. It is a really varied role where you can put all of your communications experience into practice whether you're working with our partners at a well-known pub chain to write copy for its customer magazine; writing a media release about a teddy bear being sold by one of our high street partners or crafting content for Twitter, Instagram, Facebook or Linkedin. 

You will be happy to develop and maintain strong relationships with Young Lives vs Cancer staff and partners across the UK at all levels of the organisations.
